Facial yoga is a technique to tone the muscles of the face, neck and décolleté and release accumulated stress.

This discipline is based on the premise that if we train the muscles of the body, why not the muscles of the face? Indeed, according to facial yoga, the signs of aging are not only due to a loss of skin elasticity, but also to a decrease in muscle volume. Therefore, by increasing their size, we will improve the lines and firmness.

Facial yoga is becoming more and more popular in Spain. However, countries such as Japan and the United States are ahead of us.

Celebrities such as Meghan Markle, Gwyneth Paltrow or Jennifer Aniston have already acknowledged on occasion to join this type of routine.

The 57 muscles of the face and neck can and should also be exercised.

The constant practice of the exercises allows the facial tissues to become smoother and more contoured.

Facial yoga has both physical and psychological benefits.

On the physical plane:
– Combats flaccidity
– Provides flexibility to the skin
– Strengthens the facial and neck musculature, in particular the outer and lower sides, strengthens the cheeks and lips, neck and forehead.
– Stimulates facial circulation
– Prevents the appearance of wrinkles
– Improves collagen synthesis
– improves bags and dark circles under the eyes, double chin and jowls
– Prevents flaccidity
– Activates and tones the muscles of the face
– Improve blood circulation and oxygen to our face

On the psychic level:

Our body is energy and our face is no less! Exercising these points not only improves the physical condition but also the mood.

– Relaxes and relieves stress
– Improves breathing
– relaxes tensions that accumulate in the face

This is an activity suitable for everyone! It can be practiced by people of all ages and all skin types.

The best time to start is from the age of 30. At this age, results will be seen in less time because the facial muscles are not as weakened and will react sooner to muscular work. However, this does not mean that for people in their 40s, 50s or 60s it is too late.

Just use your hands to do the exercises and keep your skin well hydrated with your Sesshin beauty treatment. A good time to practice it at the end of the day when you have already cleansed your face and moisturized your skin.

Cheeks: Fill your cheeks with air slowly. Then pass it from one side to the other for 30 seconds.

Forehead: Grasp both hands and place the knuckles of the index and middle fingers in the center of your forehead. Apply pressure, hold and slide your fists to each side. When you reach your temples, apply a little force. Do one set of four repetitions.

Jowl: Place your jowl on your right hand making sure you have a 90 degree angle. Push your chin down and take three deep breaths while pressing down.

Big smile. Half-open your mouth, smile slightly and hold the tension for 5 seconds. The next step you have to follow is, while still smiling, to widen the smile and maintain the tension for the same period of time. Repeat this exercise until you get as wide a smile as you can.
