Before the pandemic landed, trends towards a simpler and more conscious life (ikigai, yoga or mindfulness) began to emerge and are here to stay.

Have you already been seduced by any of them?

Yoga floods social networks with almost impossible postures and has become one of the most popular disciplines to keep body and mind in shape. From hatha, asthanga, vinyasa,… you will find different modalities to choose from according to your needs.

In a world where everything goes too fast and multitasking was the usual way of life, now mindfulness or “mindfulness” is in fashion. Mindfulness or “mindfulness” is in vogue. A movement to live the present consciously, with curiosity and acceptance.

Readings such as The Biography of Silence by Pablo D’ors or The Miracle of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh have become the bedside books for followers of this technique.

Slow life, slow food, slow beauty, slow decoration, slow fashion…. They imply living, consuming, taking care of oneself in a conscious way and enjoying the moments that every day offers us.

Celebrities like Sara Carbonero have launched the Slowlove brand to take care of the planet through sustainable fashion.

But if you want to know the secret of the happiness of the Danes, the happiest country in the world according to the annual UN report, you’ll have to sit down to eat cookies in front of the fireplace and follow all the tips of the trend. Hygge which focuses on simple, relaxed plans, the “happiness of the little things”.

The Swedes have not been long in coming, either, and have claimed their place. They sell us their own recipe for Swedish happiness, the Lagom, a worthy successor to Hygge, the search for balance between the little and the excessive, and their claim for the well-being of the planet.

And now, if what you need is to know what your passion is, then the Ikigai or “raison d’être” is what you are looking for. It is the secret of the Japanese to live longer and better is what gives meaning to life.

If you are not yet hooked on any of these trends you soon will, I confess to be a fan of some of them, are you in?
